Hello! Welcome to

Wild Art + Play!

I am Melissa Lohman-Wild, an early childhood art educator living in Sleepy Hollow, NY with an interest in nature connected exploration, creative communication, and intergenerational collaboration. I love to draw, paint, use scissors + glue, and make mail. Becoming a parent got me inspired to do what I love with my creative and capable kids, which was so fun that I started teaching art to other creative and capable kids. Before that pivot, I was a teaching artist in documentary production, training New York City teens to produce stories about themselves and their communities. And before that? I worked in film and television production, in the art department. I have a BA from Hampshire College, an MA in Media Studies from The New School, studied Early Childhood Education at Brooklyn College’s graduate program, and completed Strawtown Studio’s facilitator training in nature connected, art and science discovery. I have taught in preschools, elementary schools, studio schools, summer camps, community centers, libraries, playgrounds, backyards, and in the woods. I look forward to more art and play opportunities in Westchester County, NY.
